October 18th will bring us a new Real Estate album called Days. Earlier today, NPR premiered the album's opening track, and lo and behold, "Easy" is very easy on the ears.
I seem to have mistakenly pigeonholed Real Estate as one of those scuzzy rockers you ought to save for the warm summer months, served best with a cool drink in hand while donning some colorful lightweight fabric. It seems these New Jersey-cum-Brooklyn guys really know how to scale it back, something that paid off in spades with Days' excellent, excellent first single "It's Real". Now, two tracks in, Days might just prove to be an essential album this fall.
